The City of Fort Lauderdale has a rich architectural heritage that comprises of three historic districts, various individually designated historic landmarks sites, and some sites on the National Register of Historic Places. There are many techniques that can be implemented when focusing on historic preservation, all of which have unique importance. Historic Preservation in the City of Fort Lauderdale is regulated through the City’s Unified Land Development Regulations (ULDR), Historic Design Guidelines, the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards, as well as the Historic Preservation Element in the Comprehensive Plan!
Coral Shores is a small neighborhood hidden and tucked away and probably not on the radar of the city's Parks officials. We have zero parks, and the closest public city park is a 45 minute walk away. Buying a vacant property and converting it to a passive pocket park would be a great option. Don't forget about Coral Shores, please!!
